Are the Salmon sourced for SalPet products treated with antibiotics.
Like all other proteins (such as beef, lamb, pork and chicken) reared for human consumption, antibiotics are used from time to time to treat salmon in the same manner that people take antibiotics to combat disease and infection. It is important to note that strict rules are in place to ensure any antibiotics and medicines pass through the Salmon long before they are harvested for consumption to ensure they are completely safe, in accordance with government regulatory requirements.
Are SalPet Salmon Supplements sourced from Farmed Salmon or Wild Caught Salmon
We use Atlantic Salmon in our Salmon Oil and other Pet Supplement products because of their very high Omega 3 content, higher than most other fish species in Australia including Tuna and Australian Salmon. To safeguard against overfishing already depleted wild fisheries and the possibility of heavy metals and other contaminants from wild fish, we source our products from farms in Tasmania. Our raw materials are tested for heavy metals, PCB’s and other contaminants as well as for the presence of residual antibiotics to ensure our products are completely safe for pets. Like all other proteins (such as beef, lamb, pork and chicken) reared for human consumption, antibiotics are used from time to time to treat salmon in the same manner that people take antibiotics to combat disease and infection. Atlantic Salmon are not indigenous to Australia and therefore do not live in the wild.
